Tienertoneelfees (Eng)

The Klein Libertas Theatre will host the 19th Tienertoneelfees from 11 to 15 August 2026. 

This year, the festival will once again be held at the Drostdy Theatre (corner of Alexander and Bird Streets, Stellenbosch). Tickets to watch the performances will be available via Webtickets and will cost R20 per performance for adults and R10 per performance for learners, students, and pensioners.

Unfortunately, entries have already closed on 28 May 2026. However, should you still wish to enter your group, please email Marzanne Nagel at klt[at]kleinlibertasteater.co.za, and we will see if it is possible to accommodate you.

Existing or newly written Afrikaans and English texts may be performed, but only newly written Afrikaans texts will be eligible for a trophy award. The prize-giving for the festival’s top productions will take place on 15 August 2026 after the final performance (around 21:15). The best production of the festival will be allowed to perform at the 2027 Suidooster Festival.
